Some Purchases
I woke up around 4 after yesterday’s late night. I had some curry and then headed to Shibuya. Bought one record from Tower, and a watch from Beams that I had my eye on for a couple weeks. Actually, to be fair, I’ve had my eye on it for probably about 2 years. I first saw this BOHLA watch at Sputnik the first time I came to Tokyo. I was pleasantly surprised at the low price tag of around ¥4000, but I didn’t buy it for two reasons: 1. My mom had just bought me a new watch for Christmas, which had just passed, and 2. Said new watch bore somewhat of a resemblance to the one I had just received; especially the white model. On a subsequent trip to Tokyo, I met another white guy named Alex, from New York, who had bought the white version of the watch. That pretty much excluded me from buying it that time as well. But now, probably over another year later, in a limited edition collaboration between BOHLA and Beams, the same watch is available in an unnatural toy-like fluorescent green color (not pictured in the link previously). And now it’s mine, serving as a welcome alternate to my much cherished, and rare Seiko H-Slim.
